Mahmood!:)
To get to the house from Charles de Gaulle airport: my mother can pick you up directly from the airport and she drops you off at the house in 5 minutes (then she shows you the house too of course) for €20 🚕 (Similarly: if you need to be dropped off at the airport the next day). Otherwise from your Arrival Terminal you will have to walk 5/8min to the train station CDG VAL and then take this automatic train (CDG VAL) (free) to the stop "Roissypole/Terminal 3". This mini train passes every 15/20min approximately and takes 10min to get to the Roissypole stop. From there you will have to go to the bus stops (it takes 3 minutes on foot). Then take bus 🚌 9502, 32, 93 or 100 (price: €2) and stop at the "Village" stop. You are now 2/3min walk from the house;-) (To see bus hours 9502 type "9502 bus" on the internet👍🏼) Reverse direction to go from home to -> CDG airport 😉 Address AirBnB CDG Last Night46 Rue Claude de Mesmes, Roissy-en-France, Île-de-France 95700, France Directions from your host 46 rue Claude de Mesmes, Roissy-en-France 95700 |

Dear Cost Saver Guest(s) on the "European Experience”
This time next week we will be in Amsterdam. So final preparations in these coming days at home - packing, sorting finances (advise your bank/ credit card provider that you will be abroad), arranging home situations etc. All very exciting (& hopefully minimal stress & anxiety). Europe awaits & much to look forward to.
You hopefully have received an email from me a couple of days ago & trust you managed to read through the 2 page attachment incl adapters, irons, What’s App, laundry etc.
WHATS APP: if you have not downloaded this free app onto your phone, then please do so. You will find enclosed an attachment with both a link & QR code enabling you to join our WhatsApp community solely for those trip members on the European Experience starting next Sunday. Please DO NOT share with family & friends as anything I post will be for you relating to day to day activities.
You only need to either (a) click on the link OR (b) scan the QR code. You do this by opening WhatsApp & click on the camera icon top R corner.
The whole process will take minutes, but be aware it is a one-way community. So do not try to ask me questions nor try to communicate with fellow travellers. It will not work that way.
AMSTERDAM ARRIVAL:
Enclosed is a timetable for a free shuttle service from Schiphol airport to the Ibis Schiphol Hotel. Turn right when you exit the airport, look for “Hotel Shuttles A9-13” then “ Ibis Shuttle bus stop”.
Be aware that hotel check in is unlikely to be before 3pm. So you can leave your bags near reception & use your time to visit Amsterdam.
AMSTERDAM:
1. I will be in & around the hotel lobby from 09.00am on Sunday. Reception can be very busy, so please look for me & I will endeavour to help with any enquiries (hence the enclosed photo of myself).
2. To visit Amsterdam (&why not!!), then one option is to take the hotel shuttle bus back to the airport & take either (a) train direct to central station, or (b) take a public bus into the centre. The train is quicker & for €18pp, you get a return train plus access to buses & trams. The public bus is €6.5 one way or €11.75 return.
3. Attractions are various eg take a canal cruise (depart near central station); stroll downtown (watch your bags & wallets); visit a museum such as Anne Franks House (be prepared to line up as getting a reservation is very difficult); Van Gogh museum (excellent); Rijks museum, the National museum.
4. Re the Canal cruise: we won’t be doing this as an Optional Experience, for various reasons, hence my suggestion to consider this in your own time.
5. There are many other attractions in the city, one being the Heineken Experience.
OUR PROGRAM:
We will meet 4pm sharp & board our coach.
I will give some info & then we will embark on our Optional Experience: “ Taste of Holland & Amsterdam”. This is an additional side trip, as listed on the website. We will have the benefit of a Local Specialist, who will escort us north of Amsterdam, to see some of the Dutch countryside. We will visit a farm where we will see the making of the wooden shoes (clogs) & cheese (with samples) plus souvenirs. We will also visit a windmill with an explanation from the owner inside the mill. Finally we will drive into Amsterdam centre for free time for dinner, before a return to the hotel.
RE MONDAY, 18 Sept:
I will post this info to you later on. Reminder that each morning you bring your bags to the coach, both suitcases & hand luggage.
We will be operating a seating rotation on a daily basis. I know some of you are travelling as a family & I will ensure you are together. For those travelling with friends, please let me know, so that when preparing our seating plan, I can put you together (in front & behind each other).
I look forward to meeting you on Sunday. Wishing you a safe flight over, come prepared for a great time, with loads of smiles & many positive experiences await. Every day is different!
Thank you,
Kevin Marshall
