Where can I travel with my Travel Document
ITALY
8 Aug 2023 Good afternoon, Please be kindly advised holders of a blue cover Canadian Travel document (Refugee Convention of July 28th 1951) do not need a visa for transit or a short-term stay for up to 90 days in a 180-day period (e.g. for tourism, business, and select other purposes) in Italy. However, please check very carefully the visa requirements for such document holders if the intended trip includes other Schengen Area countries, even if in transit only. From what we gather, it is just Italy and a handful of other countries, that have extended visa-free privileges to people in their position. Where just a trip to Italy is concerned, we’d suggest you consider booking a direct non-stop flight from Canada to Italy, without any international transit connections.
